Prepare a local video before a stop without internet

A local imported file and a saved web link are different. Copy your own video into CarScreen and test it without a network before relying on it. CarScreen can prepare eligible direct files and supported personal-source media for offline use; web players, live streams and protected services cannot be downloaded generically.

Prepare before leaving

Pick your video from Files or Photos, wait for any iCloud original to download and let the import finish. Leave enough storage for the copy. The current import list supports MP4, MOV and M4V; no promise is made for every encoding.

Verify the local copy

Play the imported item, close and reopen the app, then try again without internet. Do this before the journey. An import screen, thumbnail or saved playlist is not proof of offline playback.

Check the display connection separately

A local file removes the media server dependency. It does not remove a receiver’s network or vehicle requirements. Test the complete screen setup while parked.

Protect your library

Imported files are excluded from iCloud backup. Deleting the app removes them. Keep your originals. Purchase restoration restores eligible Pro access, not your imported media library.
