AirPlay has sound but no picture: what to check
Sound without a picture can mean the selected receiver accepts audio only. Check video support first, then try the bundled test clip before retrying a remote link.

Check the receiver
For a TV, verify AirPlay video support and the manufacturer’s current setup instructions. Follow Apple’s network instructions for an Apple TV or compatible smart TV. Vehicle receiver networking may differ.
Try a known clip
In CarScreen, open Screen, choose the receiver and run Test picture and sound. Confirm the external image and tone. If the clip also fails, investigate the receiver, connection or adapter before changing your playlist.
If the clip works but your video fails
Try a local MP4, MOV or M4V that you have the right to use. If the local file works, check the remote link’s expiration, connection and provider restrictions. A working test does not guarantee every codec or DRM service.
Photos need a different route in CarScreen
Use an AV cable or Screen Mirroring for photos and slideshows. CarScreen’s video AirPlay route is not a separate photo-casting implementation. Screen Mirroring may also show your device interface.
