Before you start

What does PhotoClip do?

PhotoClip lets you browse your Photos library from the Mac menu bar or a window, then select, preview, copy photos or export items.

Which macOS version does it need?

PhotoClip targets macOS 14 or later. Final compatibility will be confirmed with the Mac App Store distribution build.

Is PhotoClip available yet?

No. Version 1.0 is in preparation. No price, public download or release date has been announced.

Do I need a PhotoClip account?

No. PhotoClip has no account. You grant access to your photo library through macOS.

Does it work with iCloud Photos?

PhotoClip uses Apple’s PhotoKit framework. Items stored in iCloud may need to be downloaded by Photos and require an Internet connection.

Does PhotoClip change my library?

PhotoClip reads your library. It does not offer editing or deletion of items in Photos. Exports are written to the location you choose.

Can I copy videos?

The Copy command applies to still images. To save a video as a file, use Export.

What do these screenshots and videos show?

They show the actual PhotoClip binary in demo mode. The photographs are a sample set licensed through Unsplash; no personal photos were used.

PhotoClip is coming to Mac.
