Photos or PhotoClip?

Use Apple Photos when you want to manage or edit your library. PhotoClip is designed for a smaller task: keeping that library within reach from the menu bar, then previewing, copying or exporting selected items.

Keep Photos for managing the library

PhotoClip does not offer editing, deletion or album organization. For those features, consult Apple’s official Photos User Guide.

Use PhotoClip for a compact path

PhotoClip displays recents, favorites, screenshots, photos and videos. Hold Command for multiple selection. Copy applies to still images; Export handles media saved to a location.

Understand the privacy boundary

PhotoClip has no account or developer-controlled backend. Apple Photos may download iCloud items. Exported files and the system clipboard follow the locations and macOS settings you choose.

Before choosing

If you need editing or organization, start in Photos. If you want to reach a media item quickly while working elsewhere, PhotoClip provides that focused path.
