1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how COBI Management SRL, trading as HighRoad Software, handles information in connection with PaperMind and the PaperMind website pages.
PaperMind is a macOS application for indexing, searching, and asking questions about documents. The app is designed to process documents locally on your Mac. We do not operate a cloud document-processing service for PaperMind.
2. Who we are
PaperMind is developed and published by COBI Management SRL, trading as HighRoad Software, a company incorporated in Belgium.

3. What the app collects
PaperMind does not collect or send HighRoad Software any of the following from app use:
- Document content, file names, extracted text, embeddings, or search indexes
- Search queries, prompts, answers, or chat history
- Usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data
- Account details, because PaperMind does not require a PaperMind account
- Crash reports or diagnostics, unless you choose to send information to support yourself
The Apple privacy label for PaperMind is intended to reflect this app behavior. If a future version adds any data collection, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before that behavior is released.
4. Local processing and storage
PaperMind stores its working data locally on your Mac. This can include document metadata, extracted text, embeddings, indexes, workspace settings, and chat history. These files are used so the app can search and answer against your local library.
Local app data is normally stored under your macOS user Library, such as ~/Library/Application Support/PaperMind/. You can remove local PaperMind data by deleting the app data folder. Uninstalling the application may not automatically remove local support files.
5. AI models and optional providers
PaperMind can work with local model options where supported by the installed build and your Mac. Local model use keeps prompts and retrieved passages on your device or within the local runtime you configure.
If you deliberately configure an external AI provider or another third-party service, the text you send to that provider is handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy. HighRoad Software does not receive your provider API keys, prompts, retrieved passages, or responses through the PaperMind app.
You are responsible for checking the licenses and usage terms of any models or third-party services you choose to use with PaperMind.
6. Purchases and license information
Mac App Store downloads and in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple provides us only with the information made available to developers through App Store Connect and Apple's purchase systems.
If a direct-download build is offered, checkout and license delivery may be handled by a third-party payment or licensing provider. That provider may process information such as your email address, billing details, tax information, payment status, and license entitlement. The exact provider and terms are shown at checkout.
PaperMind itself does not send document content to us as part of purchase validation.
7. Website and support
When you visit highroadsoftware.com, our hosting provider may process standard server logs such as IP address, requested URL, browser type, and timestamp for security and operational purposes.
If you email support, we process the information you choose to send so we can reply and troubleshoot. Please avoid sending confidential documents unless we specifically ask for a minimal sample and you are comfortable sharing it.
The PaperMind pages do not need tracking pixels or advertising scripts to function. If this changes, we will update this policy.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, including if you are in the European Union, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data we hold about you. Because PaperMind app use is local by design, these rights mainly apply to purchase records, support correspondence, or website operational logs.
