HyperCam Trigger · Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: 15 July 2026

Plain-language summary: HyperCam Trigger is local-first. Camera analysis, captures, settings, diagnostics and the internal gallery stay on the iPhone by default. The current build declares no tracking and includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. Apple Speech, a Cloud Upscale provider, Photos, sharing and support each have a separate, user-initiated boundary described below.

1. Controller and scope

This policy applies to the HyperCam Trigger iOS app and its associated widget and Locked Camera Capture extension. The controller for personal data it receives is COBI Management SRL, trading as HighRoad Software, BE 0676.613.701, Rue Haut Chemin 8, 1370 Jodoigne, Belgium.

Privacy questions and rights requests: privacy@highroadsoftware.com. Product support: support@highroadsoftware.com.

2. What stays on the iPhone

  • Camera preview frames used for live analysis and capture.
  • Photos, videos, thumbnails, RAW companions, source frames, cleaned documents, PDF files, OCR text and capture metadata stored in the app-local gallery.
  • Trigger settings, sensitivity, zones, presets, capture preferences, field-validation state and technical logs.
  • Microphone signal levels used for enabled sound triggers and motion readings used for shake, stability and tripod workflows.
  • Optional geotags when the user turns geotagging on.

HighRoad does not receive app-local content merely because HyperCam created or processed it. Removing the app normally removes its local container, subject to device backups and copies the user exported elsewhere.

3. Permissions

PermissionWhen and why it is used
CameraPreview, trigger analysis and photo or video capture.
Photos — add onlyRequested when the user chooses to export a capture to Apple Photos. HyperCam does not need to read the full library for this route.
MicrophoneRequested for sound-level, clap, thunder, sudden-noise or keyword trigger modes.
Speech RecognitionRequested only for the optional keyword trigger. Apple's speech-recognition service may process audio on Apple servers.
MotionShake, rotation, tilt, impact, stability and tripod-assist workflows.
Location — while in useRequested only when the user enables optional photo geotagging.

Permissions can be changed in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Denying an optional permission disables or limits the relevant feature rather than authorising another use.

4. Apple Speech

When the user enables a spoken-keyword trigger, HyperCam can use Apple's Speech framework. Audio needed for recognition may be sent to and processed by Apple, depending on the language, device and Apple's service availability. HyperCam uses the result to look for the keyword selected by the user; HighRoad does not operate the speech service or receive the audio from Apple.

5. Optional Cloud Upscale

Cloud Upscale is off by default and requires a user-provided HTTPS endpoint. A selected photo is transmitted only after the user confirms the single-photo or batch action. The chosen provider receives the image, network information and any request fields needed to process it under that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Endpoint settings can remain on the device. API tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain and are removed from exported or shared preset JSON. HighRoad does not receive the token or uploaded image unless the user deliberately configures a HighRoad-controlled endpoint, which is not part of the current default build.

6. Sharing, export and deletion

The user can export to Apple Photos, use the native iOS share sheet, or share a local photo, video, PDF, preset or diagnostic report. Those destinations receive what the user selects. Their own terms apply.

Deleting a capture from HyperCam removes the app-local files and metadata associated with that event, including related RAW, video, document or source files where applicable. It does not delete a copy already exported to Photos, shared with another person, saved in Files or sent to a Cloud Upscale provider.

7. Purchases

Optional HyperCam Pro purchases use Apple's StoreKit and App Store purchase sheet. Apple processes the Apple ID, payment, tax, refund and transaction data needed for the purchase. HyperCam receives signed entitlement and transaction information needed to unlock or restore features. HighRoad does not receive full card details.

8. Analytics, diagnostics and tracking

The current app repository includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDK and declares no tracking in its privacy manifest. Field diagnostics are stored locally and are shared only when the user invokes the iOS share sheet. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic reports if the user has separately enabled sharing with developers in Apple settings.

9. Support and website data

If the user emails support, HighRoad receives the email address, message, attachments and related correspondence. Send only the diagnostic details needed to investigate the issue and remove private photographs, locations, API keys and audio. Routine support correspondence is normally reviewed for deletion after three years. Website server logs are handled under the HighRoad portfolio privacy policy.

10. Legal bases, recipients and transfers

Where the GDPR applies, local app processing is performed at the user's request and generally does not disclose data to HighRoad. HighRoad processes support and entitlement data to perform the contract, answer requests, secure the product, meet legal obligations and pursue legitimate interests in debugging and fraud prevention. Optional protected-resource access is controlled through the user's iOS permission and feature choice.

Recipients can include Apple for platform permissions, Speech, StoreKit, App Store and user-chosen sharing; a Cloud Upscale provider selected by the user; email and hosting providers for support; and advisers or authorities where legally required. Providers outside the EEA must use an applicable transfer mechanism where required.

11. Retention, security and children

Local content remains until the user deletes it or removes the app, subject to backups and exported copies. Entitlement records follow Apple's retention and transaction systems. HighRoad retains support and legal records only for the period reasonably needed for the stated purpose or legal obligations.

HyperCam uses iOS sandboxing, Keychain storage for Cloud Upscale secrets, HTTPS for configured upload endpoints and purpose-specific permissions. No system is risk-free; users should protect the device, keep backups of important captures and avoid sharing sensitive diagnostics.

HyperCam is not directed to children and HighRoad does not knowingly collect a child's personal data through the app. A parent or guardian should supervise any use by a minor, particularly around storms, recording and location.

12. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, a user may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection for personal data HighRoad actually controls, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Because most HyperCam content is local, HighRoad cannot retrieve or delete it remotely. Users can instead delete local captures, revoke permissions or remove the app.

Requests may be sent to privacy@highroadsoftware.com. EU/EEA users may complain to their competent data-protection authority, including the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

13. Changes

We will update the date and policy when the shipping app's material data practices change. The App Store privacy answers and privacy manifest must be kept aligned with the released binary. A material change may also be announced in the app or release notes where appropriate.
