Choose by workflow
Both help owners read personal weather station data. WeatherTracking connects to Weather Underground, Tempest or Ambient Weather and keeps observations, preferences and alert rules locally. Its workflow emphasizes history, comparisons, climatology and CSV export. Ambient Weather Network offers public-station discovery, personal dashboards, layered maps, forecasts and a social feed. You can use its network without owning a station. Choose it when public exploration, sharing or access beyond an iPhone is central; choose WeatherTracking when managing a local record is the main task.

Platforms and limits
WeatherTracking runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. It needs the selected provider's credentials and internet access for fresh observations; local storage does not make the weather source offline. Alert rules are evaluated after refresh, so continuous unattended monitoring is not established. AWN offers web, iOS and Android access; an account enables favorites, alerts and community participation. Its provider-side service remains part of the workflow. Using WeatherTracking does not remove an upstream station-provider account requirement.
