1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using VoxForge ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and COBI Management SRL (trading as HighRoad Software), Rue Haut Chemin 8, 1370 Jodoigne, Belgium ("HighRoad Software", "we", "us").
If VoxForge is obtained through Apple, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and controls where these Terms conflict with it.
2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, HighRoad Software grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Install and use the App on macOS devices that you own or control.
- Use the App for your personal or internal professional purposes, including transcription of recordings you are authorised to process.
You may not sublicense, sell, resell, rent, lease, or transfer the App or your license. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Release Channels and Purchases
The repository contains two release configurations:
- Store configuration: Speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and local media import in the app sandbox.
- Direct configuration: The same local speech workflow, with explicit media-URL import and additional formats where supported.
VoxForge is currently in release validation. A configuration is available for purchase only when a verified link and live checkout appear on the product page.
3.1 Purchase & Pricing
The live checkout will state the seller, payment provider, full price, taxes, licence scope, and any renewal terms before you confirm a purchase. Development plans are not a binding offer.
3.2 Refunds
Apple purchase and refund requests are handled under Apple's rules. Direct purchases are handled under the checkout terms and applicable consumer law. Nothing here excludes a statutory withdrawal right, conformity remedy, or other mandatory consumer protection.
3.3 Future Features
Updates and upgrade rights are those stated at checkout. A future roadmap is not a promise that every feature will ship or be included without charge.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 The App
VoxForge, including its source code, design, UI, branding, and all underlying software, is owned by HighRoad Software and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights in the App to you.
4.2 Your Content
HighRoad Software does not claim ownership of transcripts, summaries, translations, or audio you produce using VoxForge. Ownership and permitted use still depend on applicable law and the rights attached to the source material, voices, and models.
4.3 Open-Source Models
VoxForge downloads and runs open-source machine-learning models (including WhisperKit/Whisper, SpeakerKit, Qwen3-TTS, Kokoro, and Piper), each distributed under its own license. By downloading and using these model files, you also agree to the terms of their respective licenses. VoxForge is not affiliated with the authors of these models.
5. Acceptable Use & Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process any audio, video, or text with VoxForge. You may not use the App to:
- Transcribe, record, or process audio of other people without the consent or legal basis required in your jurisdiction.
- Create or use a synthetic voice ("voice clone") of any person without that person's consent, or to impersonate, defraud, or deceive.
- Infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights of any third party, including by downloading content you are not authorised to download.
- Produce content that constitutes defamation, harassment, hate speech, or that is unlawful under applicable local, national, or international law.
HighRoad Software cannot monitor locally-processed content and does not do so. Responsibility for the audio you process, the voices you manage, and the outputs you create rests entirely with you.
6. Video Downloading (VoxForge Pro)
VoxForge Pro can download media from third-party platforms when you provide a URL. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of those platforms and with applicable copyright law. HighRoad Software does not host any third-party content and is not responsible for the availability or legality of media you choose to download.
7. Third-Party Services
The App downloads model files from third-party repositories (such as Hugging Face) on first use. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. HighRoad Software is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or continued licensing of model files hosted by third parties.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
VoxForge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
HighRoad Software does not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Transcriptions, translations, or generated speech will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose. You should review and verify all output before relying on it.
- The App will be compatible with all future macOS versions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HighRoad Software shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of VoxForge, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Apple-Distributed Copies
For copies obtained through Apple: these Terms are between you and HighRoad Software, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; HighRoad is responsible for product and intellectual-property claims to the extent required by law; and Apple may refund the purchase price where the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, with other remedies remaining HighRoad's responsibility. You must comply with third-party terms and represent that you are not in a sanctioned country or on a prohibited-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms. The licence is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to Apple's Usage Rules.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nivelles, Belgium.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also have rights under EU consumer-protection law, which these Terms do not limit.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time and will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of VoxForge after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or the App Store.
